Meditation: Headspace, Unwind
Length: 3 minutes
Where: In our bed, Los Angeles
How It Felt: Like Warm Fuzzy Love
Who Joined Me: Steve & Tigre
Yesterday passed by in a flash. I slept in, then rushed to jump in the shower so I could accompany Steve to his second COVID shot- yay! The first place we went switched vaccines without me realizing, so we had to drive around and find another place, which wasn’t a drive-through situation and took forever.
BUT, we are both now fully vaccinated and I couldn’t be more grateful for that!
His sister Laura and her friend got here last night, so we picked them up at LAX and took them to dinner in Playa Del Rey at an amazing restaurant called Playa Provisions. If you are a Top Chef nerd (or just a fan of amazing chefs in general) this is definitely worth a visit! Owned by season 14 winner Brooke Williamson and her husband Nick, she serves up interesting and delicious SoCal fare, fresh seafood, amazing desserts, and you better believe we split a bottle of wine after the week we had!
We walked to the beach to catch a stunning sunset then dropped the ladies off at their hotel (they’ll be joining us in our guest room tomorrow!) By the time we got home we were so tired I couldn’t believe it- especially Steve, whose body has more than enough going on to wear him out.
He and I curled up in bed to do a meditation together, just to BE and connect and breathe together for a few minutes before the night was over- always too quickly. Tigre jumped up on the bed and snuggled up between us, too. It was pure, relaxing bliss. A little love ball.
Meditation to stop, pause, rest. Meditation to connect. Meditation to clear the mind, to check with yourself. Meditation to combat stress and insomnia, to get present, to calm down. It’s all amazing. It serves in so many ways.
So grateful for the love in my life, the family I’ve been given, and the family I’ve built. Lucky girl.
