Aug 5- Just Breathe

I ended up reading super late last night (finished that book White Feminism though- so interesting and insightful!) and didn’t get to meditation until right before bed. I chose to do a Balance “Breathe” exercise, but I can’t remember which one!

They have four options, each for different outcomes:

  1. Calm Down (4-6 Extended Exhale)
  2. Clear the Mind (4-4 Equal Breathing)
  3. Relax Deeply (4-7-8 Breathing)
  4. Relieve Stress (4-4-4-4 Box Breathing)

I know it’s funny to say I don’t remember which one I chose, but I went to bed right after and they can be quite similar…. I’m sure it was either #1 or #2, though.

I don’t use the Balance app that much, and only really got it since they were offering a year for free (since I already have Headspace, Calm, and honestly an internet full of free meditation options- you do not have to spend money to easily meditate!) However, it’s really growing on me. I find I like its interface, the clean lines, and the gamified nature of the platform. It also offers more customization within its sessions than the other apps.

Lots to do- fire pits to price, craft projects to work on, and a sitting room to design around a beautiful, deep green couch we just ordered! Nesting and planning. Happy place.

I miss regular life, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to make the best of having to slow down a while longer!
