Meditation: Balance, Energize Length: 5 minutes Where: Office/Guest Room, Los Angeles How It Felt: Fun!
I’m officially 3/4 of the way through! I’ve meditated every day for nine months. Holy crap.
That’s awesome.
Three to go!
Yesterday I was totally running on fumes. I worked in the morning and had to push through an interview, an online training for an event, and a workshop, plus I had directing tasks to complete and organize. I had very little sleep to boot.
I was tired.
Before my interview (booked the job! Had to turn it down for other reasons, but nice to know I’m bookable!), I literally wanted to fall asleep. I didn’t know how I was going to make it. So, I tried the energize session from the Balance app.
Unfortunately, it only offered five minutes, but I soon realized why that was okay. The bulk of the meditation was Breath of Fire, which, if you aren’t familiar, is breathing rapidly out over and over, almost panting. It does wake you up a bit, but if you aren’t careful you can also get dizzy or super lightheaded. Five minutes was about right.
It helped as much as it could! I powered through the rest of the day, then basically collapsed. I ordered ramen from my favorite place and watched Flack and tried to zone out before bed, which was a bit impossible.
BUT- today we made it through our big technical rehearsal, which is stressful and tedious, and now I can finally let my poor brain relaaaaaaax.
Which means this: I do not have energy for my full check-in this month. It would be great, but I just don’t. So, I’m skipping this month!
I love being the boss of my blog. (Ok, I just love being the boss anywhere.)
Checkpoint REACHED. Three little months to go, and I can say truthfully that I once meditated every single day for a year. I 100% plan to keep it up, sans blog, because it has completely changed my life for the better. I feel so empowered, calm, and in control. I feel so much less anxious. I feel confident and proud of myself. I feel totally capable, and it feels so good!
Meditate. Just do it. You think it won’t matter that much, but I’m living proof that it will. It really, really will. Just start. See what happens!
Getting to know myself so intimately has been a gift I never want to return. Try it out. You’re worth it.
