Meditation: Headspace, Wind Down: Noting
Length: 3 minutes
Where: Bedroom, Michigan
How It Felt: Sweet
Here we are, getting to the dead end of 2021, and I’m finally starting to really celebrate the most consistent year I’ve ever had.
Yesterday I got my little badge from Duolingo for practicing 365 days in a row. I love learning languages but I almost always put it at the end of the priority list. Now, I’m actually sticking with it! My French is brushed up a bit and my Spanish is really strong. I’m super proud of myself!
And now, just coming up a couple of weeks behind that little milestone, this blog is coming to a close. I will then get to celebrate two consistency wins: 365 days of meditating and 365 posts about said meditations. The meditating has helped me personally in so many ways, and the writing has as well, but it’s also shown me that I can be a consistent writer, and I should start writing all those ideas in my head. I’d love to write a book next year! To finish a feature length screenplay. To set a little timer and write for a while every day, or as close to it as possible. And now I know I can!
I have always been a person with a lot of interests, someone who is curious about many things and wants to try and do everything. That can be exciting but there are drawbacks. I get a lot of ideas and quickly replace them with others. I want to do so many things, I often don’t learn each thing fully or even that well. I get too excited, honestly, and there are only so many hours in a day.
This project has shown me that I am perfectly capable of sticking with something if I really put my mind to it. I never had that confidence before. It’s pretty cool.
Though not as cool as Duo the language teaching owl. He is obviously the coolest. I can only dream.
