We survived Christmas!
We were up at 7:30am, since we have one kid left who is still young enough to be too excited to sleep in. (We all collectively agreed to remember how sleepy we felt next year and remind each other that maybe 8 or even 9am might be acceptable. We shall see.)
Gifts were unwrapped, squeals of excitement abound, shirts thrown over puffed out chests to “show” they fit, candy eaten, and the cat settled in the middle of it all once he found a properly sized box. Perfect Christmas chaos.
Then there was time to nap and play with new things, and cleaning up and setting the table with our fanciest china on which to serve our very yummy but low maintenance Whole Foods Christmas dinner. I highly recommend this route if you don’t want to cook for an entire day and do dishes the entire next one.
Night brought episodes of Hawkeye and cherry pie and a mini kitchen dance party with kids and friends. Steve and I meditated together before bed, and I stayed up a little later to start a new, amazing book.
Overall, a success.
Today was for resting and reading and watching football. Tomorrow will be Covid tests for our trip to Canada and a family movie trip to see Spider-Man. So much to do, all good! But more excited than ever for Tahoe!
Back to Hawkeye now!
